Tejashwi Welcomes Nitish’s Tenth Term, Reminds NDA of Pending Development Commitments

RJD leader praises but puts new government on notice.

RJD Supremo Tejashwi Yadav broke his silence within hours of the oath-taking ceremony on Thursday, publicly congratulating JD(U) National President Nitish Kumar for securing the Bihar Chief Minister’s chair for a record tenth time and becoming the only leader in India to achieve this milestone while extending a pointed reminder that the people now expect concrete delivery on every promise made during the bitterly fought assembly election.

Posting on X immediately after the event concluded, the former Deputy Chief Minister offered “heartfelt wishes” to Nitish Kumar and every Minister inducted into the new NDA Cabinet, yet deliberately coupled the felicitation with a firm directive that the government must fulfil its electoral declarations and usher in “positive and qualitative changes” in the lives of Bihar’s citizens without delay.

The high-profile swearing-in ceremony, held under tight security at the iconic Gandhi Maidan in Patna, was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, several Union ministers, and chief ministers from NDA-ruled states, transforming the venue into a massive show of alliance strength as Governor Arif Mohammad Khan administered the oath of office and secrecy to Nitish Kumar and his expanded council of ministers.

Alongside Nitish Kumar, Senior BJP Leaders Vijay Kumar Sinha and Samrat Choudhary were sworn in as Deputy Chief Ministers for the second consecutive term, while 26 other leaders from JD(U), BJP, and smaller allies took oath as Cabinet Ministers, completing the formation of the new government barely 24 hours after Nitish Kumar was unanimously re-elected leader of the NDA legislature party.

Tejashwi Yadav’s swift yet measured response has set the political tone for the coming months, signalling that the opposition will adopt a strategy of constructive scrutiny rather than outright confrontation while keeping intense pressure on the NDA regime to address long-standing issues of unemployment, migration, flood management, and infrastructure deficits that dominated the election campaign.
