Tamil Nadu CM M K Stalin Rejects Governor’s Alleged Anti-Tamil Security Claims
CM accuses Ravi of insulting Tamils while shielding BJP failures.
Chief Minister M K Stalin delivered a blistering rebuttal to Governor R N Ravi on Wednesday, condemning the latter’s recent assertion that Tamil Nadu suffers from “internal security issues” and exhibits a “tendency towards extremism,” declaring such remarks a deliberate attempt to tarnish the state’s image and its people while turning a blind eye to violence occurring under BJP-ruled administrations across the country.
Speaking at a government welfare assistance distribution event in Erode, Stalin categorically dismissed the Governor’s claims as baseless and politically motivated, highlighting that terrorist attacks and large-scale communal disturbances, most notably the protracted ethnic violence in Manipur that has claimed hundreds of lives, have persisted under the watch of the BJP-led central government. He accused Ravi of consistently praising the Union government regardless of its failures while repeatedly portraying Tamils as anti-national, asserting that such statements are “utterly unworthy of the high constitutional office he occupies.”
Stalin reminded the gathering that Tamil Nadu has historically contributed the highest quantum of funds from any state towards armed forces welfare during national crises, underscoring the state’s deep patriotism. He charged that the Governor’s repeated provocations amounted to a systematic insult to Tamil pride and urged citizens to collectively “put an end to this arrogance,” framing the confrontation as part of a larger design to undermine an elected state government that enjoys an overwhelming popular mandate.

The Chief Minister also launched a sharp attack on AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami, branding him a “traitor to farmers” for remaining silent when the Centre rejected Tamil Nadu’s plea to relax moisture norms for paddy procurement and for failing to secure metro rail projects for Coimbatore and Madurai. Stalin alleged that the BJP was deliberately withholding development funds and infrastructure projects from Tamil Nadu as electoral revenge for the state’s repeated rejection of the party, and accused Palaniswami of colluding with the Centre by promising metro projects only if AIADMK returned to power, thereby exposing his opportunistic alignment.
Concluding on a note of confidence, Stalin declared that “Dravidian Model 2.0 is already confirmed” and that DMK rule will continue, urging every citizen to verify their inclusion on the voter list. The escalating war of words has deepened the constitutional and political rift between Raj Bhavan and the state government, with the Chief Minister positioning the Governor’s remarks as an assault not merely on his administration but on the federal structure and the collective identity of Tamil Nadu.
