Single Mother Cab Driver's Heartwarming Chat With Passenger Wins Hearts Online

A conversation between a passenger and a female cab driver has attracted widespread attention on social media after highlighting the driver’s determination to support her family while pursuing her passion. Instagram user Aayushi Lahiri shared the interaction in a video titled “Highlight of my day” after an Uber booking matched her with a driver named Shobhna.

Lahiri said she became excited when she saw a woman’s name listed as her assigned driver on the app. After entering the cab, she told Shobhna that it was encouraging to see a woman working as a professional driver in a field that remains largely dominated by men. The friendly exchange soon developed into a conversation about employment, family responsibilities and irregular work opportunities.

During the journey, Shobhna said she had started driving for the cab platform in June. She also revealed that she was a single mother and worked professionally as a bridal makeup artist. However, because makeup assignments can be seasonal and do not provide regular earnings throughout the year, she began looking for an additional source of income to support herself and her child.

She introduced herself during the conversation and acknowledged that she could relate to the uncertainty surrounding irregular assignments.
