Shocking Police Attacks Expose Tamil Nadu’s Law and Order Crisis, Claims AIADMK Chief

AIADMK chief Palaniswami claims Tamil Nadu's law and order crisis leaves police vulnerable to attacks..

Edappadi K. Palaniswami, the general secretary of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK), has raised serious concerns over the deteriorating law and order situation in Tamil Nadu, alleging that police personnel are increasingly unsafe under the current Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) government. His remarks come in the wake of a tragic incident involving the death of an Armed Reserve Police Sub-Inspector, who was reportedly attacked by unidentified assailants in Egmore, Chennai, on July 18.

In a strongly worded statement posted on the social media platform X, Palaniswami described the attack on the Sub-Inspector as "shocking," emphasizing that it underscores a broader collapse of law enforcement security. "The fact that a police Sub-Inspector has been attacked and succumbed to injuries proves that the law and order situation has deteriorated to the point that the police force under the DMK regime has no security," he stated.

The former Chief Minister further criticized the DMK government, pointing to a pattern of police officers being attacked, resigning, or publicly expressing dissent as evidence of administrative failure. He urged Chief Minister M.K. Stalin to ensure a thorough and transparent investigation into the Sub-Inspector’s murder and to take stringent legal action against those responsible.
