Shivraj Singh Chouhan Hails BJP’s Third Straight Victory In Assam As Historic Mandate
Shivraj Singh Chouhan hailed BJP’s third consecutive Assam government formation as a historic electoral mandate.
Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Monday described the upcoming swearing-in ceremony of Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma as a “historic day” for the Bharatiya Janata Party (Bharatiya Janata Party), ahead of the party forming the government in the state for a third consecutive term. He said the outcome reflected strong public support for the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance’s governance and development agenda.
Speaking to reporters after arriving in Guwahati to attend the ceremony scheduled for Tuesday, Chouhan said the BJP’s continued mandate in Assam represented a significant political milestone. He credited the victory to public trust in Prime Minister Narendra Modi and what he described as the alliance’s focus on development and welfare-oriented governance under the National Democratic Alliance (National Democratic Alliance).
Chouhan also launched a sharp attack on the Congress party, alleging that the opposition had been reduced to what he called a “communal party.” He argued that the electorate had rejected the Congress and reaffirmed its support for the BJP’s leadership and policy direction in the state and across the country.
