Samrat Choudhary Reviews Governance, Directs Officials To Fast-Track Bihar Projects

Samrat Choudhary directs officials to improve governance efficiency and fast-track development projects in Bihar.

Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary on Wednesday held a high-level review meeting with senior administrative officials shortly after taking oath, signalling an early focus on “transparency, accountability, and efficient governance” in his new tenure. The Chief Minister moved directly to the state Secretariat after the swearing-in ceremony and formally assumed charge of his office.

Soon after taking charge, Choudhary convened a meeting with top IAS officers, including Principal Secretaries and senior departmental heads, to review governance priorities and ongoing development initiatives. The discussions centred on accelerating administrative processes and ensuring timely execution of public welfare and infrastructure projects across the state.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister issued strict directions to officials, emphasising that resolving public grievances would remain the government’s foremost priority. He stated that delays or negligence in the implementation of development schemes would not be tolerated and instructed departments to adhere to fixed timelines for project completion.

Key sectors such as roads, healthcare, education, and law and order were identified as immediate focus areas requiring sustained administrative attention. The Chief Minister also reviewed the status of ongoing projects and sought detailed progress reports from various departments, indicating that accountability would be fixed in cases of delay or inefficiency.

Choudhary further directed officials to ensure that citizens are not required to make repeated visits to government offices for basic services. He called for strengthened grievance redressal mechanisms and greater use of digital governance tools to improve accessibility and efficiency in public service delivery.

The Chief Minister also instructed departments to fast-track proposals for new development schemes aimed at boosting Bihar’s growth trajectory. His early engagement with the bureaucracy reflects an intent to establish a performance-driven governance model from the outset of his tenure, with implementation outcomes expected to be closely monitored in the coming weeks.
