Rohit Pawar Tears Into AAIB Report, Calls It a "Paperwork Exercise" to Shield VSR Ventures
Rohit Pawar alleges financial fraud and investigation cover-up in the Baramati plane crash probe.
Opposition Nationalist Congress Party (Sharad Pawar faction) MLA Rohit Pawar on Wednesday accused aviation company VSR Ventures of financial irregularities linked to the recent Baramati plane crash that claimed the life of former Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar.
Speaking at a press conference in Mumbai, Rohit Pawar alleged that efforts were being made to shield the company through the aviation regulator, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).
The MLA also dismissed the 22-page preliminary report released by the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB), calling it a “paperwork exercise” that, according to him, was designed to suppress crucial facts and destroy evidence related to the crash.

Pawar further claimed that the matter involved a financial irregularity worth ₹868 crore connected to VSR Ventures. He demanded a deeper investigation into the company’s financial dealings and aviation operations.
According to Pawar, the aircraft involved in the crash was a Learjet 45 owned by VSR Ventures. The tragic accident occurred near Baramati, leading to renewed scrutiny of aviation safety and compliance standards in India. Attempts by media outlets to reach VSR Ventures for comment through phone calls and emails reportedly received no response.
This marks the fifth press conference held by Rohit Pawar demanding strict action against the company and raising concerns over alleged lapses in aviation safety oversight by regulatory authorities.
