Rohit Pawar Raises Questions on Ajit Pawar’s Air Crash Death, Sets February 10 Presentation
Rohit Pawar questions Ajit Pawar’s air crash death, to present details on Feb 10.
Nationalist Congress Party (Sharad Pawar) leader Rohit Pawar has expressed lingering doubts over the January 28 air crash that claimed the life of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar. Speaking to reporters in Baramati during the Zilla Parishad elections, he announced that he would present a detailed account of the incident in Mumbai on February 10, addressing unanswered questions surrounding the crash.
Rohit Pawar emphasized that many in the public and political circles have questions about why and how the crash occurred. “Everyone has doubts in their minds about the crash. I will outline possible reasons behind it in my presentation,” he said. His remarks come amid heightened political attention during local body elections, which were postponed from February 5 following Ajit Pawar’s death.
The NCP (SP) leader also reiterated that Ajit Pawar had wished for unity between rival factions of the Nationalist Congress Party. In the ongoing elections, the NCP (SP) and NCP have joined forces, with candidates contesting under the NCP’s ‘clock’ symbol. Rohit Pawar said efforts to strengthen the family and party unity would continue, reflecting Ajit Pawar’s vision.

He further announced that he would elaborate on the proposed merger of the NCP factions on February 12, including its political and emotional significance. “Why was the merger intended, and what was Ajit dada’s true intention? I will explain this in detail,” Rohit Pawar told reporters, suggesting both political and personal dimensions to the plans.
Reacting to Rohit Pawar’s statements, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut said several NCP leaders, including MLA Amol Mitkari and Minister Chhagan Bhujbal, had raised similar concerns about the crash. Raut criticized Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis for warning against politicizing the matter, asking why the doubts of the family and party leaders should be dismissed.
The remarks have intensified political discourse in Maharashtra, particularly as local elections continue across 12 Zilla Parishads and 125 Panchayat Samitis. Authorities and political analysts note that the upcoming presentations by Rohit Pawar could further shape public and political perceptions about the incident and the NCP’s internal dynamics.
