In a video shared on X, Gandhi highlighted the deeper significance of the festival, stating, “The true sweetness of Diwali lies not just in the ‘thali’, but also in relationships and community,” while extending warm greetings to the nation.
At Ghantewala, a centuries-old establishment renowned for its authentic sweets, Gandhi engaged with the shop’s artisans, learning the intricate process of preparing imarti and besan laddoo. “The sweetness of this iconic shop remains the same—pure, traditional, and heartwarming,” he remarked, praising the skill and dedication involved in maintaining the shop’s legacy. The shop owner, sharing a nostalgic moment, noted that Ghantewala had served Gandhi’s grandmother, father, and other family members, playfully adding they awaited supplying sweets for his future wedding, to which Gandhi responded with a smile.
In his festive message, Gandhi urged Indians to share their Diwali celebrations, asking, “How are you celebrating your Diwali and making it special?” He further extended heartfelt wishes, saying, “May India be illuminated with the lamps of joy, may the light of happiness, prosperity, and love spread in every home.” The video, showcasing his hands-on participation in sweet-making, resonated with audiences, reflecting his effort to connect with cultural traditions and grassroots communities.
