Rahul Gandhi Unveils ‘Satyagraha’ Platform, Invites Citizens To Share Experiences Of Injustice
Rahul Gandhi Launches Platform To Map Protests
Congress leader and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Saturday launched a digital platform called ‘Satyagraha’, aimed at bringing information about protests, public grievances and rights-related movements from across India onto a common interactive map. The initiative invites people involved in different causes to share their experiences and details of their campaigns, while allowing users to identify other movements dealing with similar issues. Gandhi announced the platform through a post on X, urging citizens who are fighting what they describe as “injustice” to submit their stories.
According to the platform’s stated purpose, people can submit details of the issues they are raising and their ongoing struggles, with the information being represented geographically. The interactive map is intended to allow users to see where similar movements are taking place and potentially connect with groups pursuing related causes. The initiative therefore seeks to create a central digital space for protests and grievances that are otherwise spread across different locations and communities. Gandhi has invited people involved in rights-related campaigns to use the platform to make their concerns visible beyond their immediate areas.
In his message, Gandhi invoked Mahatma Gandhi’s philosophy of satyagraha while explaining the idea behind the initiative. He said people across the country were fighting for their rights and were often doing so individually. Gandhi argued that while truth is a powerful force, people standing together for truth can make collective action stronger. The platform’s name refers to the Gandhian concept of non-violent resistance based on truth and moral conviction, although the new initiative itself functions as a digital mechanism for documenting and connecting contemporary movements.

Gandhi specifically referred to struggles involving Gen Z, students, farmers, tribal communities, Dalits and women. The platform is intended to provide these and other groups with a way to document their concerns and locate movements dealing with comparable issues. Recent reporting on the initiative said the map includes different categories of grievances and allows submitted stories to be viewed alongside other campaigns across the country. The initiative comes as opposition parties and civil society groups have been conducting protests on a range of issues, including electoral-roll revisions and other public concerns.
The launch also comes amid a broader period of opposition mobilisation. On October 2, protests were held in Delhi and Mumbai over concerns raised by opposition parties and groups regarding the Election Commission’s electoral-roll revision exercise, with demonstrators demanding accountability from Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. The Election Commission has maintained that its electoral-roll processes follow legal procedures, while it has also initiated measures to facilitate the inclusion of eligible voters who may have been left out. These developments form part of the wider political context in which Gandhi has launched the new platform.
Gandhi’s ‘Satyagraha’ initiative is therefore positioned by its organisers as a digital platform for collecting and connecting accounts of public grievances and protest movements rather than as a single campaign focused on one issue. Citizens can use it to submit their causes and identify similar struggles elsewhere in the country. Gandhi has said that bringing these voices together would help people who are otherwise fighting their battles separately find common ground and support.
