Rahul Gandhi Defies EC’s Oath Affidavit Demand

Congress leader alleges BJP-EC collusion in election fraud.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi launched a scathing attack on the Election Commission (EC) during the 'Vote Adhikar Rally' in Bengaluru on Friday, accusing it of colluding with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to manipulate the 2024 Lok Sabha election results. Gandhi reiterated his claims of widespread vote theft, intensifying his critique of the electoral process.

Gandhi dismissed the EC’s demand for an affidavit under oath, stating, “I have already taken an oath in Parliament holding the Constitution.” He alleged that the EC shut down its websites in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Bihar to suppress public scrutiny after he released data exposing discrepancies. “They know their entire structure will collapse if people question the data,” he claimed.

Highlighting irregularities in the Maharashtra Assembly election, Gandhi pointed out a surprising surge of 1 crore new voters who did not participate in the Lok Sabha polls but voted in the state election, predominantly for the BJP. “Our alliance’s vote count remained the same, but these new voters handed victory to the BJP,” he said, suggesting foul play.
