Rahul and Tejashwi SLAMMED by Supreme Court! BJP Demands Public Apology Over Bihar Voter Row
SC upholds Bihar voter roll revision; BJP demands Rahul, Tejashwi apologize.
In a stunning rebuke, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday hailed the Supreme Court’s observations on Bihar’s ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls as a “slap in the face” for opposition leaders Rahul Gandhi (Congress) and Tejashwi Yadav (RJD). The BJP demanded that both leaders issue a public apology for their vocal opposition to the voter list revision, accusing them of undermining a constitutional process.
On Thursday, the Supreme Court upheld the Election Commission of India’s authority to conduct the SIR in Bihar, labeling it a “constitutional mandate” to ensure fair and transparent elections. The court further directed the poll body to accept Aadhaar, Voter ID, and ration cards as valid documents during the revision process, reinforcing the exercise’s legitimacy.
BJP national spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia seized the opportunity to lambast Gandhi and Yadav, asserting that the court’s remarks exposed their “anti-democratic” stance. “The Supreme Court has made it crystal clear: the SIR is about transparency and fairness in voting. Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav owe the people of India and Bihar a public apology for opposing this critical process,” Bhatia said at a press conference.

Bhatia pointedly questioned Yadav’s acceptance of the court’s ruling, asking, “Will Tejashwi respect the Supreme Court’s decision, or will he continue to defy it?” He also criticized Gandhi for staging protests in Patna just a day before the court’s hearing, alleging it showed a “blatant disregard” for the judiciary. “These leaders have no faith in the Supreme Court or the Constitution,” Bhatia charged, urging both to “reflect on their actions.”
The BJP leader didn’t stop there. He also took aim at the Congress party’s internal turmoil in Karnataka, accusing Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar of prioritizing power struggles over governance. “While Karnataka’s people crave good governance, these two leaders are busy fighting over the chief minister’s chair,” Bhatia remarked, calling the Congress’s “dirty politics” a disservice to the state.
As the BJP intensifies its attack, the spotlight is now on Gandhi and Yadav to respond to the Supreme Court’s ruling and the public’s growing scrutiny. Will they apologize, or will they double down? The political drama in Bihar is far from over.
