Raghav Chadha Credits BJP Leadership For Historic Bengal Election Result

Raghav Chadha congratulates BJP on its Bengal victory, crediting leadership and governance for the mandate.

In a post-election political reaction, Raghav Chadha extended congratulations to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) following what he described as a “historic and decisive” performance in the West Bengal Assembly elections. Sharing his remarks on social media platform X, Chadha praised the scale of the mandate and called it a significant moment in the state’s political landscape. His message also highlighted similar electoral performances in other states, framing the results as an endorsement of governance and development.

Chadha, who recently joined the BJP after a reported exit from the Aam Aadmi Party, credited the party’s leadership for the outcome. He specifically acknowledged Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah for what he described as strategic leadership and direction. He also referred to BJP organisational leadership, including party president Nitin Nabin, attributing the results to coordinated efforts at the national level.

According to trends cited in his remarks, the BJP crossed the 200-seat mark in West Bengal, securing a comfortable majority and pushing the Trinamool Congress (TMC) into a steep decline after 15 years in power. The election is being widely seen as a major political shift in the state. Chadha described the outcome as reflecting voter support for development-oriented governance and broader aspirations for change.

He also pointed to electoral performances in other states, noting that Assam continued to show strong support for the BJP-led government under Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, where the party was leading in a large majority of seats. In Puducherry, the NDA alliance was also reported to be maintaining its lead, while smaller parties and alliances trailed in comparison, indicating a favourable national trend for the BJP-led bloc.

The reaction comes against the backdrop of Chadha’s recent political shift, which has drawn significant public and political attention. Reports suggest he left his previous party citing internal issues and differences in organisational functioning. Following his move, he faced a noticeable decline in social media following, reflecting mixed public reactions to his decision and the broader political realignment.

Unverified reports have also suggested that Chadha could be considered for a role within the Union government, although no official confirmation has been made. His recent statements, however, signal a strong alignment with the BJP’s leadership narrative as the party celebrates significant electoral gains across multiple states, marking a broader reshaping of India’s current political landscape.
