‘Puppets of RSS-BJP’: Bihar Congress Rebels Launch Scathing Attack on Party Leadership

43 dissidents strike back, blame leadership for poll rout.

In a stunning intensification of factional warfare within Bihar Congress, all 43 leaders slapped with show-cause notices last week for alleged anti-party activities have submitted coordinated and defiant replies, categorically rejecting the accusations and instead holding the state leadership directly responsible for the party’s humiliating performance in the recent assembly elections.

The rebel faction accused state president Rajesh Kumar of operating in an authoritarian manner, issuing disciplinary notices without conducting any preliminary inquiry and without securing the mandatory clearance from the All India Congress Committee, actions they described as a gross violation of established organisational norms and procedures.

The dissidents charged that the state unit has been deliberately hollowed out by persistent suppression of internal democracy, with repeated complaints from grassroots workers at district and block levels routinely dismissed. They asserted that this absence of dialogue and accountability severely eroded the party’s organisational strength, culminating in the electoral disaster, and escalated their attack by declaring that certain state leaders were functioning as “puppets in the hands of RSS-BJP”.

Emphasising the fragility of the party’s position in Bihar after successive poll setbacks, the group cautioned that any harsh disciplinary measures against them would only deepen the crisis and further alienate the remaining cadre. They appealed to the central leadership to prioritise genuine organisational reform over protecting the current state hierarchy.

Party sources confirmed that the detailed responses are currently under scrutiny by the disciplinary committee, whose recommendations will be forwarded to the national leadership for final adjudication, while the rebel leaders have made it clear they will convene again to decide their future strategy if their demands for accountability continue to be ignored.
