Prime Minister Narendra Modi made a significant and closely watched visit to Hyderabad on Sunday, where he met two key leaders of Andhra Pradesh, blending political engagement with personal outreach. The visit gained attention as it included back-to-back meetings with Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan and Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, reflecting both administrative coordination and personal rapport.
The Prime Minister’s first stop was at Pawan Kalyan’s residence, where he inquired about the Deputy Chief Minister’s health following a recent surgery. Modi conveyed wishes for his speedy recovery and good health. The meeting was described as brief but warm, with Modi also expressing concern and support for the actor-turned-politician’s well-being during his recovery phase.
Later, Modi visited the residence of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, where he was received by the Chief Minister along with his son and Andhra Pradesh HRD Minister Nara Lokesh and other family members. The Prime Minister spent nearly an hour at the residence, engaging in informal discussions over tea and traditional Andhra delicacies, highlighting a relaxed and cordial atmosphere beyond formal political engagements.

As a gesture of cultural respect, the Naidu family presented Modi with a specially crafted Venkatagiri Jamdani portrait of Lord Venkateswara. The artwork symbolised Andhra Pradesh’s rich spiritual traditions and its globally recognised handloom heritage, underscoring the cultural dimension of the interaction alongside its political significance.
The meeting between Modi and Nara Lokesh also drew attention for its personal tone, with observers noting a continued rapport that has developed over years of political interaction. The exchange was described as warm and familiar, reflecting a relationship that extends beyond formal political ties into a more personal connection between the families involved.
Following the meetings, the Prime Minister shared photographs and messages on social media platform X, expressing goodwill toward both leaders. He wished Pawan Kalyan good health and extended best wishes to Chandrababu Naidu for Andhra Pradesh’s development. Both leaders responded positively, describing the visits as encouraging and meaningful, while Lokesh referred to it as a privilege, highlighting what many political observers interpreted as a strong signal of continuing political and personal alignment between the leaderships.
