PM Modi Invites Revanth Reddy To Work Together For Telangana Development Goals

PM invites Telangana CM to collaborate on development while assuring Centre’s continued support.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday addressed a development event in Telangana, where he inaugurated and reviewed several infrastructure and growth-related projects. The programme also saw a notable exchange between the Prime Minister and Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, who made a strong appeal for faster central clearances for key state initiatives.

During his speech, Revanth Reddy urged the Centre to support Telangana’s long-term development vision and proposed that the state be enabled to pursue an ambitious economic roadmap. He referred to the success of the “Gujarat Model” during Modi’s tenure as Chief Minister and said Telangana aspired to build its own development model aimed at transforming the state into a multi-trillion-dollar economy over the coming decades. He also requested the creation of a special mechanism within the Prime Minister’s Office to speed up approvals for major infrastructure projects across key metropolitan regions.

Reddy highlighted several pending projects, including urban rejuvenation efforts, metro rail expansion, and large highway proposals, and sought a dedicated high-level meeting with the Prime Minister to resolve long-pending clearances. He emphasised that his appeal was focused purely on development and not influenced by political considerations.

Responding to the remarks, PM Modi acknowledged the request and said he was open to supporting Telangana’s growth ambitions. In a light but pointed comment, he said he was prepared to extend similar levels of central support that Gujarat had received during earlier years, but cautioned that outcomes depend on cooperative governance and effective implementation. He also suggested that collaboration between the Centre and states is essential for faster progress, adding that both must work together rather than in isolation.

The Prime Minister further stated that development should remain above politics and stressed that the growth of individual states is crucial for national progress. He called for collective efforts across political lines to achieve the broader vision of a developed India by 2047, underscoring ongoing reforms and infrastructure expansion initiatives being undertaken by the Centre.

Reassuring support for Telangana, Modi said the Union government would continue working at an accelerated pace to fulfil the aspirations of its people. He also extended an open invitation for cooperation, indicating that coordinated efforts between the Centre and the state would be key to achieving long-term development goals.
