PM Modi Claims Phase 1 Polls Signal NDA Victory, Contrasts Governance with RJD ‘Jungle Raj’

PM Modi celebrates historic Phase 1 turnout as massive Opposition defeat.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a massive rally in Aurangabad, proclaiming that the extraordinary 64.66% voter turnout in Bihar's first phase of Assembly elections across 121 seats represents an unmistakable mandate for the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). He described the record-breaking participation as the people of Bihar actively taking charge to ensure the NDA's return to power, effectively shutting down the Opposition's campaign built on what he termed a "package of lies." This turnout, the highest ever recorded in the state's electoral history, underscores a deep public desire for continuity in development-focused governance under the leadership of himself and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.

In a scathing attack on the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and its allies, Modi pointed out that even the Congress party, part of the Mahagathbandhan, shows no confidence in the RJD's election manifesto and deliberately avoids referencing it during campaigns. "The people of Bihar have completely rejected this bundle of falsehoods," he asserted, emphasizing that voters place their faith in the proven track record of the Narendra-Nitish partnership rather than hollow assurances. He rallied the crowd with the chant "Phir ek baar, NDA sarkar," declaring that the first phase has already confirmed the alliance's dominance and set the tone for a sweeping victory.

Modi drew a stark contrast between the current era of "sushasan" (good governance) and the dark days of "jungle raj" under previous RJD regimes, where election days were marred by widespread violence, booth capturing, gunfire, bomb explosions, and systematic suppression of Dalit and backward community voices. He lauded the Election Commission for conducting the phase peacefully and efficiently, despite ongoing attempts by "jungle raj forces" to create disruptions. The seamless voting process, he said, allowed every section of society—from rural heartlands to urban centers—to exercise their franchise without fear or interference.

The Prime Minister expressed profound gratitude to Bihar's electorate for their enthusiastic participation, noting that such high engagement reflects not just political awareness but a collective resolve to protect progress and reject regression. Women, youth, and marginalized groups turned out in unprecedented numbers, sending a powerful message against divisive politics and in favor of inclusive growth, infrastructure development, and law and order. This groundswell, Modi argued, is the foundation of the NDA's vision for a "Viksit Bihar" aligned with national aspirations.

As the state prepares for the second phase of polling next Tuesday, the momentum generated from Phase 1 has galvanized NDA workers and supporters statewide. Campaign events are drawing record crowds, and the alliance's narrative of stability, security, and sustained development appears to resonate strongly. With the Opposition on the back foot, Modi's confident assertions position the NDA for a potential landslide, reinforcing Bihar's pivotal role in shaping India's political future.
