PM Modi Birthday: BJP To Launch Month-Long Vadnagar-Varanasi Outreach Yatra

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is planning a month-long nationwide outreach campaign connecting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthplace, Vadnagar in Gujarat, with his parliamentary constituency, Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh, party sources said. The “Vadnagar To Varanasi Yatra” is likely to begin on September 17, coinciding with the Prime Minister’s birthday.

According to sources, ten teams will begin the journey simultaneously from Vadnagar and Varanasi. The teams travelling from Varanasi will pass through multiple states before reaching Vadnagar, while those starting in Vadnagar will travel towards Varanasi. The month-long campaign is expected to cover nearly 100 kilometres each day as part of the BJP’s broader organisational outreach.

Each convoy is expected to include more than 10 bikers, along with buses and BJP workers. The teams will travel through towns, villages and districts along their respective routes and interact with people on the ground. During the journey, party workers are expected to highlight governance initiatives of the BJP-led central government and development work undertaken in BJP-ruled states.

Daily public engagement is expected to be a key feature of the campaign. After covering the planned distance each day, the convoys will stop at designated locations, where BJP workers will participate in four pre-planned programmes. These events are expected to focus on communicating the achievements and welfare initiatives of the Narendra Modi government and development projects in BJP-governed states.

The choice of Vadnagar and Varanasi carries particular significance for the BJP. Vadnagar is associated with Modi’s early life and birthplace, while Varanasi has been his parliamentary constituency since 2014. Party leaders believe connecting the two locations through the yatra will reinforce this political and organisational link while allowing workers to engage directly with people across several states.

The proposed campaign is expected to be one of the BJP’s major public engagement programmes in the coming months. Through the month-long journey, party workers will seek to strengthen grassroots outreach and communicate the party’s governance and development message ahead of its future organisational and political activities.
