Piyush Goyal Responds To Rahul Gandhi Remarks, Alleges Opposition Conspiracy

Piyush Goyal reacts to Rahul Gandhi remarks and alleges opposition conspiracy.

Union Minister Piyush Goyal on Sunday launched a sharp attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, accusing him and opposition parties of attempting to destabilise the country following reported remarks suggesting that the Modi government could fall within a year. The statement has triggered a fresh round of political confrontation between the ruling BJP and the Congress.

Goyal alleged that Rahul Gandhi’s comments were part of a coordinated attempt involving opposition parties and what he described as a “toolkit gang” to spread unrest in the country. He claimed that the opposition was engaging in a “serious plot to create anarchy,” asserting that such statements reflected an intent to weaken national institutions and public trust in governance.

In his social media post on X, Goyal further accused the opposition of failing to defeat the government through democratic means and instead attempting to incite instability. He said the ruling party had strong public support and argued that attempts to discredit the Prime Minister and constitutional institutions would not succeed. He added that the “INDI alliance’s conspiracy to set India ablaze will never succeed.”

The controversy stems from remarks reportedly made by Rahul Gandhi during a Congress minority advisory committee meeting, where he is said to have stated that the Modi government could fall within the next year due to growing economic distress. The comments have been strongly denied by the BJP leadership, who described them as provocative and politically motivated.

BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra also criticised Rahul Gandhi, accusing him of repeatedly making inflammatory statements. He referenced earlier remarks attributed to the Congress leader and claimed that such rhetoric was aimed at provoking public unrest, while asserting that the government continues to enjoy strong public support.

Meanwhile, Congress leader Imran Masood also spoke during the same meeting about reshaping the party’s outreach strategy toward the Muslim community, highlighting the need for a revised political narrative ahead of upcoming elections. The remarks have added further political weight to an already heated exchange between the two major parties.
