Perform or Pack Up: Congress Rallies Cadres in Ahmedabad Showdown

The Congress wrapped a fiery two-day AICC session on Sabarmati’s banks Wednesday, issuing a “perform or perish” ultimatum to party workers while vowing to topple the BJP with ideological grit. The party adopted three resolutions, including “Nyaypath,” slamming BJP’s divisive nationalism and pledging to defend the Constitution’s federal core.

President Mallikarjun Kharge set a tough tone: “Non-performers must rest or retire,” he thundered, alleging election fraud in Maharashtra and pushing for ballot papers over EVMs. Rahul Gandhi tore into PM Modi, calling the Waqf (Amendment) Act “anti-Constitution” and warning of BJP-RSS targeting minorities next—Christians, then Sikhs. “Where’s Modi’s 56-inch chest?” he jabbed, mocking the PM’s silence on U.S. tariffs and Bangladesh snubs.

Kharge accused the BJP of stoking communalism with “500-year-old issues,” while Gandhi pushed a caste census and smashing the 50% reservation cap, citing Telangana’s 42% OBC quota as a blueprint. “Modi talks backwards but ducks participation,” he quipped. The duo framed the fight as a “second independence battle” against inequality and cronyism, with Kharge alleging Governors’ bill-blocking got a Supreme Court “slap.”

The “Nutan Gujarat, Nutan Congress” resolution eyes a Gujarat comeback—BJP-ruled since 1995—while honoring Sardar Patel’s 150th anniversary. Over 1,700 delegates rallied under “Nyaypath: Sankalp, Samarpan aur Sangharsh,” with Gandhi sensing “change in the air” against a “hateful” BJP-RSS. The party also flagged judicial cash scandals, demanding accountability. Congress says it’s truth versus BJP’s “Machiavellian” power grab—game on.
