‘People Will Remove Her’: BJP MP Responds to Mamata’s Warning
Anurag Thakur fires back at TMC chief’s threat to “shake India”.
BJP MP Janurag Thakur on Wednesday issued a sharp retort to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s warning that any attempt by the BJP to “touch Bengal” would result in the Trinamool Congress shaking the entire country, asserting that the people of the state are now ready to remove her government from power.
Speaking to reporters in Kangra, the former Union minister declared that the National Democratic Alliance’s victory in Bihar despite fierce opposition attacks has set the stage for a similar outcome in West Bengal. He described Banerjee’s aggressive rhetoric as a sign of preemptive frustration ahead of impending electoral defeat, pointing to widespread corruption, infiltration, and rising crime as the primary reasons for public discontent.
Thakur emphasised that Bengal’s citizens have grown weary of the prevailing lawlessness and misgovernance, stating that the same electorate which rejected opposition claims in Bihar will soon deliver a decisive mandate against the Trinamool Congress regime in the 2026 assembly polls.

The exchange was triggered by Banerjee’s fiery speech on Tuesday in North 24 Parganas, where she accused the BJP of employing underhand tactics similar to those allegedly used in Bihar. She claimed that permission for a government helicopter was deliberately withheld to delay her campaign schedule, interpreting the incident as the beginning of political confrontation even before the formal announcement of elections.
Banerjee warned the BJP against underestimating her political strength, asserting that any attempt to challenge her authority would backfire spectacularly. The escalating verbal duel between the BJP and Trinamool Congress leadership signals an early start to what promises to be one of the most bitterly contested electoral battles in West Bengal’s recent history.
