No Clean Chit for Parth Pawar in Pune Land Scam Says Maharashtra Minister
Maharashtra Revenue Minister denies clean chit to Parth Pawar in Mundhwa land scam, says probe report still pending.
Maharashtra Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule on Thursday refuted media reports claiming that Parth Pawar, son of late Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, had been exonerated in the Mundhwa land scam. The Minister stressed that the probe committee, headed by Additional Chief Secretary Vikas Kharge, has not yet submitted its final report, contradicting earlier claims of a “clean chit.”
The Minister added that the Kharge Committee has requested an eight-day extension to complete its investigation due to staff shortages and responsibilities tied to the upcoming Zilla Parishad elections. Bawankule urged the public not to jump to conclusions and said he would comment only after reviewing the final report.
The controversy centers around 40 acres of ‘Mahar Vatan’ land in Pune’s Mundhwa area. Allegations surfaced in November 2025 that Amadea Enterprises LLP, reportedly associated with Parth Pawar, purchased the land valued at approximately Rs 1,800 crore for just Rs 300 crore, while also allegedly securing a Rs 21 crore stamp duty waiver for developing an IT park.

Investigations so far have led to the suspension and detention of Tehsildar Suryakant Yewle and Sub-Registrar Ravindra Taru, while Sheetal Tejwani has been arrested. The probe is also ongoing against Digvijay Patil, co-owner of Amadea Enterprises LLP. The Economic Offences Wing filed an 1,886-page charge sheet on January 28, detailing the case against key accused.
Social activists and opposition figures have criticized the state government for selective handling of the investigation. Activist Anjali Damania raised concerns on X, questioning why charges have only been filed against Tejwani, and demanded that the probe extend to Parth Pawar and other political figures named in the allegations.
The Maharashtra government now awaits the Kharge Committee’s findings, which will likely determine whether the investigation will expand to include political connections. Authorities emphasize that the report’s submission in the coming days will be decisive in resolving the high-profile case.
