Nitish Kumar Meets JD(U) MPs In Delhi, Seeks Stronger Focus On Bihar Development

JD(U) national president and Rajya Sabha MP Nitish Kumar on Wednesday met the party's MPs in New Delhi to discuss Bihar's development, public welfare and the current political situation. During the meeting, Kumar directed the party's representatives in Parliament to maintain a strong focus on issues affecting Bihar and its people.
Kumar urged JD(U) MPs from both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha to raise matters related to the state's development and public interest effectively during parliamentary proceedings. He emphasised the need for party representatives to work with commitment to address people's concerns and meet the expectations of voters.
The meeting also included individual discussions between Kumar and several MPs. Those present included JD(U) national working president and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Kumar Jha, along with MPs Dileshwar Kamat, Devesh Chandra Thakur, Kaushalendra Kumar, Alok Suman, Sunil Kumar, Vijayalakshmi Devi and Rampreet Mandal. JD(U) Deputy Leader in the Legislative Council and party treasurer Lalan Kumar Sarraf also attended.

Kumar is currently in Delhi to participate in Rajya Sabha proceedings following his election to the Upper House. His meetings with party colleagues come amid continued disruptions in Parliament and a growing backlog of legislative and public-interest matters. As a constituent of the NDA, JD(U) is also working on its parliamentary strategy and the issues it intends to prioritise during the ongoing session.
The absence of JD(U) MP Lovely Anand from Wednesday's meeting has attracted political attention, although no official reason for her non-participation has been provided. Her absence has led to speculation about her relationship with the party. Her husband, former MP Anand Mohan, has previously expressed differences with Nitish Kumar and criticised the NDA government on several occasions.
Political observers have linked those differences to disagreements over political representation and reports of a demand for a ministerial position for their son, Chetan Anand. However, there has been no official confirmation that these issues were connected to Lovely Anand's absence from the meeting. Kumar had also met Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on August 5 as part of his engagements in Delhi.
