NDA Hopes For One Lakh Majority For Nellore Mayor Candidate: MLA

NDA leaders predict big win margin for Nellore Mayor candidate.

Leaders of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP)-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) have expressed confidence that their candidate for Nellore Municipal Corporation (NMC) Mayor will secure a victory margin of one lakh votes in the forthcoming civic elections. The alliance is banking on development works undertaken across Nellore city and the Nellore Rural constituency to consolidate support for its candidates.

Nellore Rural MLA Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy said on Wednesday, September 9, that the development projects completed and taken up in the city and rural constituencies would be reflected in the election results. He said the impact of these works would help NDA-backed candidates win across all 72 divisions of the municipal corporation.

Reddy made the remarks while participating in a programme related to development works in the 20th division of Nellore city. He said the division alone had received development works worth ₹7.73 crore. The MLA laid the foundation stone for a road project in the division, highlighting the works as part of the broader development activity being undertaken in the city.

The NDA leaders are seeking to present the development agenda as a key factor in the upcoming municipal election. Their campaign is expected to focus on works carried out in different parts of Nellore and the benefits they are expected to bring to residents. The alliance believes that voters across the corporation's 72 divisions will take these projects into account while choosing their representatives.

Reddy also linked the development activity in Nellore city and the rural constituency to the prospects of the alliance's candidates. The assertion that the Mayor candidate could win by one lakh votes reflects the confidence being expressed by the NDA leadership ahead of the election. The alliance's broader objective is to secure victories for its candidates across the corporation's divisions.

The forthcoming NMC election is therefore expected to be closely watched as the TDP-led NDA seeks to translate its development claims into electoral support. With the alliance projecting a strong mandate for its Mayor candidate and candidates across all 72 divisions, the results will indicate whether the development-focused campaign has resonated with voters. Further details on the election schedule and the contesting candidates were not provided in the information available.
