Muslims Rejoice with PM Modi's Gesture! Celebrate Eid with Joy Thanks to ‘Saugat-e-Modi’ Kits

The ‘Saugat-e-Modi’ campaign, launched by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), has brought festive cheer to underprivileged Muslim families across Maharashtra.

The ‘Saugat-e-Modi’ campaign, launched by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), has brought festive cheer to underprivileged Muslim families across Maharashtra as they received special Eid kits ahead of the celebrations.

Initiated on Wednesday in Mumbai, the campaign kicked off with the distribution of kits to children at Islamic schools, with plans to reach 25,000 families in the city alone before Eid. Nationwide, the BJP aims to deliver these kits to 32 lakh economically disadvantaged Muslim households, partnering with 32,000 mosques.

The kits, filled with essentials like vermicelli (sevaiya), dry fruits, sugar, and clothing—including salwar-suit fabric for women and kurta-pajama material for men—have been warmly received. In Mumbai, recipients expressed gratitude for the thoughtful gesture, which aligns with the spirit of Ramzan and Eid.

“Prime Minister Modi’s commitment to all 140 crore Indians shines through this initiative,” said BJP leader Wasim Khan, speaking to IANS. “Many poor families can’t afford festive treats, but these kits, including clothes for kids, make a difference.”

Yakub, a beneficiary, praised the effort: “The slogan ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas’ comes alive here. These kits bring joy to struggling families, and I’d rate this 100 out of 100.”

While some see it as a genuine outreach, critics argue it’s a political move to bolster BJP’s image among Muslims. Regardless, the campaign has sparked positivity, with families in Maharashtra rejoicing as they prepare for Eid with newfound ease, courtesy of ‘Saugat-e-Modi’.
