MNS Leader Mahajan Slams Party for Not Supporting Him Against Rane Threats

MNS abandons Mahajan amid Rane’s threats!

Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) spokesperson Prakash Mahajan, brother of the late BJP leader Pramod Mahajan, publicly expressed his frustration with the MNS leadership on Tuesday for failing to support him against alleged threats from former Union Minister and BJP MP Narayan Rane. The feud, escalating since June, has exposed tensions within the MNS and its strained relations with the BJP-led Mahayuti alliance.

The conflict began when Mahajan criticized Maharashtra Minister Nitesh Rane, Narayan’s son, for mocking a potential MNS-Shiv Sena (UBT) alliance. Mahajan’s remarks, including a jab at Nitesh’s height and “intellectual depth,” prompted Narayan Rane to retort that Mahajan was overstepping his status and threatened to “make him vomit” if he continued. Mahajan reported receiving abusive calls and threats, leading him to seek police protection from CM Devendra Fadnavis on June 10.

Speaking to the media, Mahajan voiced his hurt over the MNS leadership’s silence, particularly from party chief Raj Thackeray, saying, “I fought Rane, but my party didn’t stand by me. Why am I still alive if my own people don’t value me?” He noted his exclusion from an ongoing MNS leaders’ meeting in Igatpuri, Nashik, stating he would not meet Thackeray unless invited, likening the leader to a “god” but refusing to visit the “temple” uncalled.

The row coincides with broader MNS controversies, including a language dispute where MNS workers assaulted non-Marathi speakers, drawing criticism and legal action. Mahajan’s public dissent signals internal cracks within the MNS as it navigates its aggressive Marathi pride campaign and potential electoral strategies.
