Mayawati Slams Rahul’s Dalit Stand as Hypocritical
BSP chief accuses Congress, BJP of betraying Bahujans.
BSP supremo Mayawati launched a scathing attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Saturday, calling his recent concern for Dalits and tribals nothing more than “self-serving politics” and “crocodile tears.”
In a post on X, Mayawati dismissed Gandhi’s admission of Congress’s historical failure to uplift SC/ST communities as insincere. She accused the grand old party of decades of betrayal, saying this very neglect forced Dalits and tribals to form their own political movements, including the Bahujan Samaj Party.
“Now that they are out of power, they’re remembering the Dalits again. But their past actions speak louder,” she wrote, asserting that Congress long delayed granting Dr B.R. Ambedkar the Bharat Ratna and failed to properly implement reservation benefits.

The former UP CM also didn’t spare the BJP-led NDA, accusing them of hypocrisy and systematically weakening reservations for SCs, STs, and OBCs through covert tactics.
“All casteist parties are cut from the same cloth,” she declared, contrasting their approach with her own government’s record of ensuring dignity, safety, and upliftment for the poor and oppressed.
“The true welfare of Bahujans lies only in BSP’s iron guarantee,” she said.
