Mamata’s Explosive Claim: BJP’s ‘Linguistic Terror’ Targets Bengalis with Brutal Police Attacks!

TMC-linked group slams BJP for targeting Bengali workers, alleging detentions, deportations, and communal polarization.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has escalated her attack on the BJP, accusing it of perpetrating “linguistic terror” against Bengali-speaking communities, citing a disturbing incident where Delhi police allegedly assaulted a mother and child from Malda’s Chanchal. Sharing an unverified video on X, Banerjee condemned the violence, declaring, “Even a child is not spared in the BJP’s regime of cruelty against Bengalis!” She vowed to continue the fight against what she calls “attacks on Bengali identity and language” until the BJP is defeated.

The TMC-linked Desh Bachao Gana Manch echoed her outrage, alleging systematic persecution of Bengali-speaking migrant workers in BJP-ruled states. Despite possessing valid identity documents, these workers reportedly face detention in camps, are “pushed into the sea,” and, in one shocking case, forcibly deported across the Bangladesh border using a payloader. The group, comprising TMC-associated artists, poets, and musicians, claimed the BJP falsely brands these migrants as ‘Rohingya’ or ‘Bangladeshi,’ targeting Bengali-speaking Muslims to fuel communal polarization.

Highlighting West Bengal’s history of embracing linguistic diversity, the group questioned the harassment of Bengalis elsewhere. On Sunday, TMC activists launched statewide rallies to protest what Banerjee, speaking at the party’s Martyrs’ Day rally, described as “linguistic terrorism.” The escalating controversy has ignited a fierce debate over migrant rights and cultural identity in India.
