Mamata Banerjee’s Party Drops Powerful Campaign Song Ahead of Bengal Elections

TMC launches powerful election anthem ahead of West Bengal polls.

The Trinamool Congress unveiled its official campaign song ‘Abar Jitbe Bangla’ (Bengal Will Win Again) on Saturday, setting the tone for the upcoming assembly elections in West Bengal. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s party described the track as the heartbeat of Bengal’s resistance, an anthem of pride, and a bold reaffirmation of its core slogan ‘Ma-Mati-Manush’ (Mother-Soil-Human). The song quickly gained traction on social media after being shared by the All India Trinamool Congress handle, urging supporters across the state to embrace its message of unbreakable spirit.

The music video prominently features Bengal’s iconic historical figures, including Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, Swami Vivekananda, and Rabindranath Tagore, portraying the state as a land of unparalleled legacy and resilience. Interspersed visuals deliver a sharp political message, showing Prime Minister Narendra Modi alongside the caption “Aage nijer maati shamla” (Look after your own land first), immediately followed by powerful footage of Mamata Banerjee and Abhishek Banerjee leading massive protest marches. The sequence serves as a direct challenge to the BJP’s influence in the state.

Abhishek Banerjee, TMC’s national general secretary and Mamata Banerjee’s nephew, used the song’s launch to launch a scathing attack on the BJP, branding it ‘Bangla-birodhi’ (anti-Bengal). In a strongly worded post on X, he accused the party of undermining democracy by attempting to strip citizens of their voting rights and silencing dissent through institutional coercion. He asserted that Bengal would rise under the blessings of ‘Ma, Mati, Manush’ to reclaim its democratic pride and defeat such forces.

The campaign launch comes amid escalating political tensions in West Bengal. On Thursday, Enforcement Directorate raids at the residence of I-PAC head Pratik Jain in Kolkata triggered chaos, prompting Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to personally visit the site and condemn the operation. The TMC chief accused the BJP of weaponising central agencies for political vendetta and dared the opposition to defeat her party through democratic means in the upcoming elections.

A day later, Mamata Banerjee led a massive protest march in Kolkata alongside TMC MPs, MLAs, and supporters, reiterating allegations of misuse of investigative agencies by the central government. The release of ‘Abar Jitbe Bangla’ has energised TMC cadres and intensified the pre-election narrative, positioning the party as the unwavering defender of Bengal’s identity and autonomy against perceived external threats.
