Maithili Thakur Hails Budget and Governor Address Demands Fast Justice in NEET Case

Maithili Thakur praises Bihar Governor’s address and Union Budget, seeks fast justice in NEET case.

BJP MLA Maithili Thakur on Monday praised Bihar Governor Arif Mohammad Khan’s address to the state Assembly, calling it comprehensive and data-driven. She said the address clearly highlighted the state’s development trajectory over the years while presenting the current situation with supporting statistics.

Thakur lauded the Governor’s emphasis on law and order, describing it as a critical aspect of governance. “Bihar is currently strong in matters of law and order,” she said, adding that maintaining peace and security remains a top priority for the government.

On the Union Budget 2026, Thakur described it as “very special,” noting its focus on inclusive development. She highlighted the budget’s attention to youth, women, farmers, and the underprivileged, while welcoming initiatives promoting high-value crops like coconut and cashews to boost agricultural income.

Thakur also praised women-centric provisions, including the plan to establish girls’ hostels in every district and support platforms like ‘SheMart’ to help women entrepreneurs access better markets and growth opportunities. She emphasized that these measures would empower women and strengthen socio-economic development in the state.

Commenting on the recent death of a NEET aspirant in Patna, Thakur expressed deep concern and called for swift justice. “As a girl, I want justice delivered as soon as possible,” she said, urging authorities to act promptly. She stressed that strict action against those responsible would restore trust among students and families.

Reiterating her confidence in the system, Thakur said that firm action in such cases would not only deliver justice but also send a strong deterrent message. She added that ensuring student safety and addressing such incidents decisively are essential for public trust in Bihar’s governance.
