LG Manoj Sinha Warns Silence on Terror Will Be ‘Existential Threat’ to J&K

L-G urges society to expose terror sympathisers as doctor-led network exposed.

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha issued a powerful call to action on Thursday, urging every citizen of Jammu and Kashmir to actively confront and expose terror sympathisers, warning that silence could turn terrorism into an existential threat to society. Speaking at the University of Jammu’s special convocation, he stressed that while security forces are relentlessly dismantling terror networks, the battle cannot be won without full public participation in countering radicalisation.

In a dramatic early-morning operation, security forces demolished the house of prime accused Dr Umar Nabi in Pulwama’s Quil area using controlled explosions. Dr Nabi, a medical professional, is alleged to have personally driven the explosive-laden vehicle that carried out Monday’s deadly blast near Delhi’s Red Fort, claiming 13 lives and exposing a chilling new breed of “white-collar” terrorism.

The ongoing multi-state investigation has uncovered a sophisticated terror module involving highly educated professionals, including at least eight doctors. Over 15 suspects have already been arrested, with police from Jammu and Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and central agencies working round-the-clock to dismantle what officials describe as an alarming nexus between qualified professionals and terrorist organisations.

Sinha highlighted a hopeful shift among J&K’s youth, who are increasingly rejecting the gun and choosing education, careers, and development. He insisted this positive momentum must be protected by collectively isolating those who still shelter terrorists or spread extremist ideology, declaring that the time for passive resistance is over.

As the probe deepens and more arrests are expected, the Lieutenant Governor’s stark message resonates across the Valley: terrorism survives only when society gives it oxygen—and now, every citizen has been put on notice to help choke it out once and for all.
