Kishan Reddy Urges Voters to ‘Protect Hyderabad from AIMIM’ During Jubilee Hills Bypoll Campaign

Union Minister Kishan Reddy accused Congress and BRS of colluding with AIMIM and neglecting Jubilee Hills’ development.

Union Coal and Mines Minister G Kishan Reddy has called for protecting Hyderabad from the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), accusing the ruling Congress, Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), and AIMIM of colluding against public interest during a campaign for the Jubilee Hills Assembly bypoll. Speaking in Erragadda on Sunday while supporting BJP candidate Lankala Deepak Reddy, Kishan labelled the three parties as “family-run” entities prioritising personal gains over development and welfare. He urged voters to reject this alleged alliance in the upcoming byelection.

Kishan criticised the Congress government for failing to deliver on its 2023 Assembly election promises, claiming it had betrayed women, unemployed youth, and students through poor governance. He highlighted unfulfilled commitments and accused the administration of ineffective leadership since taking power. The minister positioned the BJP as the alternative focused on genuine progress, contrasting it with what he described as opportunistic politics among the opposition groups.

Turning to the BRS’s decade-long rule, Kishan alleged severe neglect of the Jubilee Hills constituency, challenging former Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao to campaign on its garbage-strewn streets and overflowing sewage drains.

He pointed out disparities in development compared to neighbouring areas like Serilingampally, Kukatpally, and Sanathnagar, daring Rao to emerge from his farmhouse and account for the infrastructure deficits. Kishan framed the bypoll as an opportunity to address longstanding civic issues ignored under previous regimes.

The heated rhetoric underscores the high stakes in the Jubilee Hills contest, where local grievances over sanitation, drainage, and uneven growth have become central campaign themes. As political parties intensify door-to-door efforts, voters are being asked to weigh promises of accountability against accusations of historical mismanagement. The byelection is seen as a litmus test for shifting alliances and public sentiment in one of Hyderabad’s most affluent yet infrastructurally challenged constituencies.
