Kangana Ranaut Condemns Congress Rally Slogans Against PM Modi, Calls Them ‘Deeply Hurtful’

Kangana Ranaut condemns Congress over objectionable slogans against PM Modi at Delhi rally.

BJP MP Kangana Ranaut on Monday expressed strong disapproval over objectionable slogans reportedly raised against Prime Minister Narendra Modi at a Congress rally in Delhi. Speaking to reporters outside Parliament, she called the slogans “deeply hurtful” and said such personal attacks are unacceptable in any political discourse.

The controversy erupted after the Congress party’s “Vote Chor, Gaddi Chhod” rally at Ramlila Maidan on Sunday. Videos circulating on social media showed some participants allegedly chanting provocative slogans, including “Modi teri kabar khudegi,” which sparked sharp criticism from the BJP and public debate over the tone of political rallies.

Ranaut emphasized that political differences should not devolve into personal attacks. “Politics does not mean that just because our ideologies differ, we become enemies. Wishing for someone’s death or raising such slogans is extremely painful and unacceptable,” she said, noting that the remarks hurt not just the Prime Minister but the entire nation.

Highlighting PM Modi’s popularity, Ranaut remarked, “140 crore people have chosen Prime Minister Modi. He is one of the most loved leaders of the country, and his support extends even beyond India. Such remarks deeply hurt us and are not reflective of a healthy democracy.”

Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra responded by denying that any such slogans were raised from the stage. She suggested that if the remarks were made, they came from the crowd or party workers, and questioned the BJP’s intent in raising the issue in Parliament.

Union Minister Kiren Rijiju also condemned the slogans, demanding a public apology from Congress leadership on the floor of Parliament. The Lok Sabha was adjourned briefly as treasury benches raised concerns over the derogatory remarks, emphasizing that political disagreements should not compromise respect for national leaders or democratic discourse.
