Jyotiraditya Scindia Says Assam To Progress Under Himanta Biswa Sarma Government
Scindia says Assam will continue development under NDA leadership.
Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia on Tuesday said that Assam is poised to continue its development trajectory under the leadership of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, crediting the Bharatiya Janata Party-led government for what he described as sustained public support and governance continuity in the state. He made the remarks while attending the swearing-in ceremony of Sarma and his council of ministers in Guwahati.
Scindia stated that the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, encapsulated in the slogan “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas,” has driven significant transformation across Assam and the broader northeastern region over the past 12 years. He said this approach has contributed to what he called unprecedented development across infrastructure, governance, and connectivity sectors.
Speaking to reporters after arriving in Guwahati, Scindia said Assam has witnessed sustained progress under the current political leadership and expressed confidence that the state would continue on the same path. He added that the electoral mandate reflects public trust in the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party and its governance model.

The Union Minister also extended congratulations to Sarma and his newly sworn-in council of ministers, expressing hope that the government would accelerate development initiatives in the coming term. The swearing-in ceremony was held at Khanapara in Guwahati and witnessed attendance from top national leaders of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), including senior Union ministers.
The event was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, as well as chief ministers from various NDA-ruled states. The presence of senior leadership underscored the political significance of the event and the BJP’s emphasis on its governance model in the northeast.
Sarma, who secured another term as Chief Minister following the Bharatiya Janata Party-led NDA’s electoral success in the Assam Assembly elections, reaffirmed his government’s commitment to development and governance continuity. The leadership change marks the beginning of another term for the state government, with a focus on infrastructure expansion, administrative reforms, and regional development priorities.
