#JUSTIN: National Farmers’ Party Enters BJP-Led NDA Ahead Of Kerala Assembly Polls
The party’s entry into the NDA alters alliance dynamics ahead of Kerala Assembly elections.
The National Farmers' Party has joined the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance ahead of the upcoming Kerala Assembly elections, in a move that could reshape alliance arithmetic in the state.
The decision to align with the NDA was announced following discussions between leaders of the farmers’ outfit and representatives of the Bharatiya Janata Party. Party representatives said the alliance was formed with the aim of strengthening farmer-centric policies and ensuring greater political representation for agricultural communities in Kerala.
Leaders of the National Farmers’ Party stated that issues such as minimum support price, crop insurance, debt relief and rural infrastructure would be central to their agenda within the NDA framework. They argued that joining the alliance would provide a broader national platform to advocate for agrarian concerns and secure policy support at both the state and central levels.

The BJP, which has been seeking to expand its footprint in Kerala, welcomed the move and described it as a sign of growing support among farmer groups. NDA leaders indicated that seat-sharing discussions and campaign coordination would be finalised in the coming weeks as preparations intensify for the Assembly polls.
Kerala’s political landscape has traditionally been dominated by the Left Democratic Front (LDF) and the United Democratic Front (UDF). The inclusion of the National Farmers’ Party in the NDA is expected to add a new dimension to the electoral contest, particularly in rural constituencies where agrarian issues play a decisive role. Further clarity on constituency allocations and joint campaign strategies is likely as the election schedule approaches.
