JSW Motors Partners Dassault Systemes to Accelerate EV, PHEV Development in India

Partnership aims to accelerate EV development and localisation efforts

JSW Motors Limited has announced a long-term strategic partnership with Dassault Systèmes to accelerate the development of electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles in India, marking a significant push into the country’s fast-evolving new energy vehicle (NEV) segment.

As part of the collaboration, JSW Motors will deploy Dassault Systèmes’ 3DEXPERIENCE platform as its core digital backbone across design, engineering, and manufacturing operations. The move is aimed at streamlining product development, improving efficiency, and enabling faster time-to-market for future-ready vehicles.

The partnership will focus on building a modular and scalable vehicle architecture capable of supporting multiple NEV formats. Advanced applications such as CATIA and ENOVIA will be used to enhance flexibility in design and engineering, while DELMIA will integrate manufacturing processes to optimise resource utilisation and reduce the overall carbon footprint.

Ranjan Nayak, CEO of JSW Motors, said the company is focused on building a technology-driven mobility ecosystem that is both engineered in India and globally competitive. He added that the collaboration will help accelerate development timelines while maintaining high standards of quality. The company is also in discussions with domestic suppliers to deepen localisation and strengthen India’s automotive supply chain.

Echoing this, Deepak NG, Managing Director of Dassault Systèmes India, said the partnership comes at a pivotal time for the Indian automotive industry. He noted that the 3DEXPERIENCE platform will help JSW Motors manage the growing complexity of software-defined vehicles while enabling end-to-end integration across the value chain—from design and engineering to manufacturing and lifecycle management.

The collaboration will also support the creation of virtual twins of products and processes, allowing for improved innovation, agility, and scalability. Additionally, the initiative aims to establish a robust product lifecycle management ecosystem alongside a manufacturing execution system, ensuring better traceability and faster development cycles.

Overall, the partnership is expected to strengthen localisation efforts and position JSW Motors to deliver globally competitive, future-ready electric and hybrid vehicles tailored to the Indian market.
