Jagan Slams Andhra Govt, Calls for President's Rule

Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy Slams Andhra Govt. Over Law and Order Crisis

YSRCP chief Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy has demanded President's Rule in Andhra Pradesh, alleging a complete collapse of law and order under the TDP-led NDA government. In a scathing attack, the former chief minister accused the ruling coalition of targeting YSRCP leaders and activists with false cases, illegal arrests, and a systematic campaign of political harassment.

Posting on X, Reddy questioned, “When politicians and citizens have no protection, law and order is crumbling, and the Constitution is being violated, why shouldn’t President’s Rule be imposed?” He pointed to a recent assault on Dalit village panchayat president Nagamalleswar Rao in Mannava, Guntur district, as evidence of rampant lawlessness, citing a video of the daylight attack as proof of the state’s deteriorating situation.

Reddy further alleged that YSRCP workers face assaults for opposing the TDP, raising concerns about public safety under Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu’s administration. Meanwhile, YSRCP SC Cell president TJR Sudhakar Babu accused Naidu of insulting Dalits, referencing the death of YSRCP supporter C Singayya, who allegedly died under the wheels of Reddy’s convoy in Etukuru Cross, Guntur. Babu claimed Naidu compared Singayya to a dog, politicizing the tragedy and disrespecting the deceased.

Babu also accused Naidu and IT Minister Nara Lokesh of fostering violence against Dalits and prioritizing real estate over welfare. He cited a pattern of casteist remarks by TDP leaders, questioning Dalits’ education and political rights, and demanded a thorough investigation into Singayya’s death. The YSRCP’s allegations highlight escalating tensions in Andhra Pradesh, with Reddy intensifying his call for central intervention to address the alleged governance failures.
