Hyderabad Doctor Dies by Suicide, Family Conflicts Reported in Days Before Death

A 23-year-old doctor allegedly died by suicide at her residence in Hyderabad’s Alwal area following repeated disputes with her family over adopting a pet cat, police said. The deceased has been identified as T Princy, also known as Shreshtha, who was living with her mother and grandmother at the time of the incident.

According to officials, the incident occurred on Friday evening when Princy was alone at home. Her family members had reportedly gone out for some work and discovered her hanging from a ceiling fan upon returning. Authorities were alerted soon after, and a case has been registered as per standard procedure, with further investigation underway.

Preliminary reports suggest that tensions had been building in the household over Princy’s decision to adopt a cat a few weeks earlier. Family members had objected to keeping the pet, citing concerns about her health after she reportedly developed symptoms such as a cold and cough. The disagreement is believed to have led to frequent arguments in the days leading up to the incident.
