Gujarat: BJP Candidate Satish Patel Files Nomination For Manjalpur By-Election
BJP nominee enters Manjalpur bypoll electoral contest.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Satish Patel filed his nomination papers for the Manjalpur Assembly by-election on Monday, with senior party leaders expressing confidence in retaining the seat. The bypoll was necessitated following the death of eight-time MLA Yogesh Patel, who represented the constituency for several years and passed away on June 2.
The nomination filing was accompanied by a show of strength by the BJP, beginning with the inauguration of the party’s election central office in Manjalpur, followed by a public meeting and a ‘Vijay Vishwas Bike Rally’. Gujarat BJP president Jagdish Vishwakarma, along with senior party leaders, office-bearers, workers, and supporters, joined the candidate during the nomination procession at the Vadodara Collector’s Office.
Before the public meeting, BJP leaders paid floral tributes to Yogesh Patel and highlighted his long political association with the Manjalpur constituency. Addressing party workers and supporters, Jagdish Vishwakarma said the BJP was confident that Satish Patel’s victory would be a tribute to the late MLA and would help continue the development work carried out in Gujarat under Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel.

Vishwakarma described the BJP as an organisation where dedicated workers can rise through commitment and service. He praised Satish Patel’s long association with the party and urged workers to reach out to every household, increase voter participation, and work towards ensuring a decisive victory in the by-election.
Satish Patel, while addressing the gathering, appealed to voters to support him and said he would work towards fulfilling the pending aspirations of Yogesh Patel while continuing development activities in Manjalpur. A veteran BJP organisational leader, Satish Patel has previously served as Vadodara district BJP president, district general secretary, and chairman of the Vadodara Municipal Corporation Standing Committee.
The Manjalpur by-election has emerged as an important political contest in Gujarat, with the BJP fielding Satish Patel and the Congress nominating former state minister and Gujarat Congress vice-president Bhikha Rabari. According to the election schedule, nominations closed on July 13, scrutiny will take place on July 14, and candidates can withdraw their nominations until July 16. Voting is scheduled for July 30, while counting of votes will be held on August 3.
