Giriraj Singh Criticises Congress, Calls It “Muslim-Maoist Party” In Bihar Remarks

Giriraj Singh calls Congress Muslim-Maoist Party, attacks Rahul Gandhi.

Union Minister Giriraj Singh on Friday launched a sharp attack on the Congress party and its leadership, alleging that it has transformed into what he called a “Muslim-Maoist Congress.” Speaking to reporters in Begusarai, he specifically targeted Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, accusing him of steering the party in a direction that, according to Singh, reflects ideological extremism and minority appeasement.

Singh claimed that a large majority of Congress’s winning candidates in the Assam Assembly elections belonged to the Muslim community, asserting that nearly 98% of its successful candidates were Muslims. He challenged Rahul Gandhi to refute his claim and said the party’s composition indicated a shift in its political identity. The Union Minister further reiterated his demand that the Congress party be renamed to reflect what he described as its altered ideological stance.

Escalating his criticism, Giriraj Singh also referred to Rahul Gandhi as an “Urban Naxal,” a term often used in political discourse to describe individuals accused of left-wing extremism. He alleged that the Congress party had increasingly aligned itself with what he described as anti-national or extremist elements, while simultaneously targeting supporters of Sanatan traditions and opposing certain legislative measures, including the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam.

The Union Minister also brought in references to the Asaduddin Owaisi-led All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), claiming that Congress now represents Muslim political interests more strongly than AIMIM itself. He suggested that the political space occupied by AIMIM has been overtaken by Congress in certain regions, based on his interpretation of candidate representation and electoral outcomes.

In addition, Singh responded to recent remarks made by Owaisi regarding the government’s decision to accord statutory recognition to “Vande Mataram,” stating that the national song represents reverence for “Bharat Mata” and asserting that those living in India should respect national symbols. He also reiterated a hardline stance on cultural and constitutional identity, stating that parallel legal or religious frameworks should not override the country’s constitutional structure.

The remarks have added to ongoing political tensions between the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the opposition Congress, with both sides continuing to exchange strong statements over ideological positioning, electoral strategy, and national identity issues in the run-up to future elections.
