Ex-VP Jadeep Dhankhar Admitted to AIIMS After Multiple Unconscious Episodes
Former Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar admitted to AIIMS for MRI after two bouts of unconsciousness.
Former Vice President Jadeep Dhankhar was admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) on Monday after experiencing two bouts of unconsciousness on January 10, officials confirmed. Doctors at AIIMS recommended hospitalisation to conduct further tests, including an MRI, to assess his condition.
The 73-year-old former vice president reportedly blacked out while attending routine activities and sought a medical check-up at AIIMS on Monday, during which physicians advised admission for detailed evaluation and monitoring.
This is not the first time Dhankhar has suffered from sudden loss of consciousness. Reports indicate he experienced similar episodes in the past while visiting the Rann of Kutch, Uttarakhand, Kerala, and even in Delhi during public engagements as vice president.

Dhankhar resigned from the vice-presidential post on July 21, citing health concerns, and has since limited his public appearances. His repeated fainting episodes have raised concerns about underlying health conditions, prompting authorities to ensure comprehensive diagnostic tests.
Officials stated that Dhankhar is currently stable and under medical observation at AIIMS, with doctors conducting a series of scans and cardiovascular assessments to determine the cause of the recent episodes. Family members and close aides are reportedly by his side.
The incident has drawn attention to the importance of proactive health monitoring for senior leaders, particularly after repeated fainting incidents, underscoring the need for timely medical intervention to prevent serious health complications.
