EPS Predicts ‘Decisive Comeback’ in 2026; Vows Tough Action on DMK Corruption

Palaniswami vows crushing victory and legal revenge against DMK.

At the AIADMK’s general council and executive committee meetings held in Chennai’s Vanagaram on Wednesday, party general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami declared that the AIADMK would decisively return to power in the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. He asserted that public disillusionment with the ruling DMK had reached its peak, paving the way for a complete rejection of the incumbent regime at the hustings.

Invoking the legacies of founders MGR and J Jayalalithaa, Palaniswami reminded thousands of cadres that the AIADMK was created specifically to defeat the DMK and safeguard the interests of every section of society. He affirmed that despite numerous challenges since Jayalalithaa’s demise, the party remained unbroken and was destined to form the next government, continuing the mission of its iconic leaders.

Palaniswami issued a direct warning to the DMK leadership, stating that corruption had become synonymous with the present regime. He promised that immediately upon assuming office, the AIADMK government would initiate stringent legal action against every individual accused of graft, ensuring accountability and recovery of public wealth.

Reiterating the party’s independent stature, he declared that the AIADMK was “not a slave to anyone” and that alliances in Tamil Nadu had always been dictated by political expediency rather than compulsion. He pointed out that voter preference differed markedly between Lok Sabha and Assembly polls, expressing confidence that the party’s organisational strength would translate into a sweeping victory in 2026 despite the recent parliamentary setback.

The day-long deliberations at the marriage hall, marked by a grand reception for Palaniswami, served as the launchpad for finalising the AIADMK’s comprehensive roadmap for the upcoming elections. Senior functionaries indicated that the meetings would reinforce internal discipline while projecting the party as the sole credible alternative capable of dislodging the DMK and restoring clean governance in the state.
