Twenty-one-year-old Congress candidate Faiz Hasan has emerged as one of the youngest new faces in the Jaipur Municipal Corporation after winning Ward 71 in the Rajasthan urban local body elections. Hasan secured 5,426 votes, marking a notable electoral victory for the young candidate and bringing a fresh generational presence into the city’s municipal political landscape.
Hasan’s victory comes at a time when younger candidates are increasingly seeking opportunities in local governance and public representation. His age has drawn attention to the result, with the 21-year-old now set to become part of the Jaipur Municipal Corporation following an election that saw competition from candidates representing both established political parties and independent backgrounds.
The Congress candidate defeated his nearest rival, Independent candidate Mohammad Salim, who received 5,256 votes. The relatively close vote difference between the two leading candidates made Ward 71 one of the contests where the final outcome depended on a narrow margin, with Hasan ultimately securing the seat after polling concluded.

Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Nisha Gaur finished third in the contest, according to the available election results.
