CM Stalin Defends DMK Legacy, Says Opponents Can’t Replicate 75 Years of Sacrifice
At DMK’s 75-year event, CM Stalin lauds the party legacy and criticises BJP and actor Vijay’s TVK.
Chief Minister MK Stalin marked the DMK’s platinum jubilee on November 9, 2025, with a fiery address at the party’s ‘Knowledge Festival’ in Valluvar Kottam, declaring that no newcomer can replicate the Dravidian major’s 75-year legacy of sacrifice and ideological struggle. In a clear swipe at actor Vijay and his Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), Stalin mocked “ignorant people daydreaming of attaining victory like the DMK,” asserting that power was never won by merely announcing a party and claiming the chief minister’s chair. “To win like the DMK, one must toil like the DMK, publish journals, produce films, face arrests, and sacrifice lives for 18 long years,” he thundered before thousands of youth-wing cadres.
Stalin launched a blistering attack on the BJP, accusing it of resorting to “shortcuts like SIR” (Simultaneous Identification and Registration) to intimidate Dravidian parties after repeatedly failing to defeat them ideologically. “Every political party opposed SIR during elections—why conduct it now? We will fight it legally and politically till the end,” he vowed, framing the exercise as a deliberate assault on Tamil Nadu’s voter base ahead of future polls. He praised Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin for bringing lakhs of youngsters into the party and ensuring the DMK’s history reaches the next generation.
The Chief Minister released ‘Kaalathin Niram – Karuppu Sivappu’, a monumental 1,120-page anthology featuring essays by national leaders including Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, Lalu Prasad, Sharad Pawar, D. Raja, and Farooq Abdullah—proof, he said, that DMK’s principles of social justice, self-respect, state autonomy, and federalism now resonate across India. “Our growth has unsettled many; they are angry because DMK is making an impact nationwide while they try to suppress us,” Stalin declared, positioning the party as the unstoppable guardian of Dravidian pride.

The week-long festival includes a progressive book fair, a detailed exhibition chronicling DMK’s journey from Periyar’s justice movement to Tamil Nadu’s dominant force, and a two-day symposium with prominent ideologues. Stalin described the celebrations as a reaffirmation of the party’s unshakeable ideological foundation, built on decades of grassroots struggle rather than overnight stardom.
As Tamil Nadu braces for the 2026 Assembly polls, Stalin’s combative speech drew clear battle lines: the DMK remains the sole authentic voice of Dravidian aspirations, ready to crush both saffron incursions and celebrity challengers while carrying forward its platinum legacy into the future.
