CJP's Ashutosh Ranka Welcomes Rajasthan School Restoration Initiative

Rajasthan has begun restoration work at a government school in Bagru near Jaipur as part of a state-wide initiative to strengthen and repair dilapidated school buildings. Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) co-convener Ashutosh Ranka welcomed the move on Wednesday, describing the restoration as a positive development for students who had been studying at an alternative location for more than two years.

Ranka’s reaction followed the commencement of work at the school, which had earlier become the focus of a CJP inspection visit on August 21. He highlighted the difficulties faced by the party’s team during that visit and maintained that the priority should remain the educational needs of the students. He also called for similar restoration work at government schools facing infrastructure problems across the country.

Ranka stressed that access to quality education should not depend on where a student lives. He maintained that children studying in government schools should have safe and adequate facilities and indicated that the CJP would continue raising issues concerning school infrastructure and students’ educational conditions.

Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister Prem Chand Bairwa also outlined the government’s broader plan to improve government school infrastructure across the state. He stated that schools found to have damaged or unsafe structures had been identified and that funds had been sanctioned by Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma for necessary strengthening and restoration work.

Bairwa clarified that the action at the Bagru school was not an isolated measure. The government had been identifying schools with infrastructure-related problems and making alternative arrangements for students wherever buildings were considered unsuitable. He noted that several such structures were old and had been constructed many years ago, arguing that the condition of these buildings should not be attributed solely to the period since the BJP came to power.

The restoration initiative comes amid wider efforts to address infrastructure deficiencies in Rajasthan’s government schools. The government has maintained that schools requiring repairs will be identified and strengthened, while students can be provided alternative arrangements where necessary. The Bagru school restoration has brought renewed attention to the need for safe learning environments and functioning educational facilities for students across the state.
