#BreakingNews: Two Unidentified Gunmen Open Fire At Solan In Mohali

Police probe gun attack in Mohali.

Panic gripped the area near CP67 Mall in Mohali on Wednesday evening after unidentified assailants allegedly opened fire at a Hair Master salon, prompting a swift police response and the registration of a formal case. According to preliminary information, two individuals riding a motorcycle arrived outside the salon and allegedly targeted the shop, firing several rounds before fleeing the scene. The sudden burst of gunfire caused widespread alarm among people in the vicinity, with police teams rushing to the location shortly after receiving reports of the incident.

DSP Mohali Harsimran Singh Bal confirmed that police received information about the firing from the salon at approximately 8:30 pm on Wednesday. He said two individuals arrived on a motorcycle and opened fire at the salon before departing the area. "We got information at about 8:30 pm from the salon that firing had taken place. We have registered an FIR in the matter and are verifying the facts," the DSP stated, confirming that a First Information Report had been filed and that authorities were actively working to establish the details of the incident.

In response to the shooting, Bal said special police teams have been constituted to investigate the case and identify those responsible. He noted that investigators are examining multiple possible angles behind the attack, including whether it may be linked to an extortion demand, as well as why this particular salon was singled out as a target. He added that Punjab Police had previously extended security cover to the salon's owners, a detail that is now being factored into the broader investigation as authorities attempt to piece together a motive.

"We will arrest the accused in this case as soon as possible," Bal said, adding that police were examining all aspects of the incident and working to identify the individuals involved in the attack. As part of the investigation, police teams have begun reviewing CCTV footage from the surrounding area in an effort to reconstruct the sequence of events and identify the motorcycle-borne suspects seen fleeing the scene. The motive behind the firing remains under investigation, with police treating the case with urgency given the public nature of the attack and the panic it caused in a commercial area.

Authorities have not ruled out any possibilities at this stage, and the probe is expected to draw on both forensic evidence from the scene and witness accounts gathered in the aftermath of the shooting. The incident adds to a series of reported firing and extortion-related cases in parts of Punjab in recent months, a trend that has drawn continued attention from state law enforcement agencies. Police officials reiterated that a thorough investigation was underway and that further updates would be provided as the case progresses.
