#BREAKING: BJP and AIADMK Announce Alliance for 2026 Tamil Nadu Polls

#BREAKING: BJP and AIADMK have announced their formal alliance for the 2026 Assembly Polls in Tamil Nadu

In a major political development, Union Home Minister Amit Shah revealed that the AIADMK and BJP have agreed to unite under the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) for the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.

Speaking at a press meet in Chennai, Shah shared the news, stating that the alliance was finalized after discussions between leaders of both parties, aiming to challenge the ruling DMK’s dominance.

Shah emphasized that the coalition, led nationally by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, will contest in Tamil Nadu under the leadership of AIADMK chief Edappadi K Palaniswami. The move signals a strategic reunion after the AIADMK parted ways with the BJP in 2023, driven by a shared goal to consolidate anti-DMK votes. Shah expressed confidence that the NDA’s combined strength, bolstered by other regional partners, will reshape Tamil Nadu’s political landscape.

The announcement, coinciding with Panguni festivities, was met with enthusiasm among supporters, though details on seat-sharing remain pending. This alliance aims to leverage AIADMK’s rural strongholds and BJP’s growing urban influence to mount a formidable challenge in 2026.
