BJP's False Cases Against AAP Exposed?
Court clears AAP's Satyendar Jain in corruption case.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has launched a scathing attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) after a special court accepted the CBI's closure report in a 2018 corruption case against former Delhi PWD minister Satyendar Jain. The court ruled that the investigation found no evidence of criminal activity or financial loss to the government, delivering a significant victory for AAP and exposing what the party calls a BJP-orchestrated campaign to tarnish its leaders with baseless allegations.
The case, initiated on May 28, 2018, following a reference from the Lieutenant Governor’s office, alleged irregularities in hiring a creative team for PWD projects. After a high-profile raid on Jain’s residence in 2019, which yielded no incriminating evidence, the CBI filed a closure report in 2022, stating there was no proof of corruption or conspiracy. Special Judge Dig Vinay Singh, while accepting the report, noted that further proceedings would be futile due to the lack of evidence.
Speaking to PTI Videos in Chandigarh, Jain recounted the ordeal: “My house was raided, my children’s bags searched, but nothing was found. Justice was delayed, and my family suffered immensely.” He accused the BJP of targeting AAP leaders to deter middle-class individuals from entering politics, adding, “Arvind Kejriwal warned me about jail when I joined AAP, but I didn’t realize the extent of political vendetta.”

In a fiery post on X, AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal labeled all cases against his party as “false,” questioning who would compensate the families of targeted leaders for their emotional distress. “The BJP filed fake cases, jailed us, and smeared our names. Shouldn’t those responsible face consequences?” he wrote.
Senior AAP leader Manish Sisodia celebrated the verdict on X, quoting Gautam Buddha: “The truth cannot remain hidden for long. Satyameva Jayate.” Delhi state convener Saurabh Bharadwaj called the CBI’s closure report proof of the BJP’s “conspiracy” to defame AAP leaders and hinder their work. Atishi, another prominent AAP figure, highlighted that over 200 cases filed against AAP leaders in the past decade have consistently collapsed in court, proving their innocence.
The AAP’s outrage underscores a broader narrative of political rivalry, with the party accusing the BJP-led central government of weaponizing agencies like the CBI to target opponents. As the truth emerges in Jain’s case, AAP leaders are demanding accountability for what they describe as a deliberate attempt to malign their reputation and obstruct their governance in Delhi.
