BJP–RSS Move Towards Major Reshuffle In Party Organisation

BJP and RSS discuss organisational changes and new leadership team.

Senior leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and representatives of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) have reportedly held detailed discussions on a potential organisational reshuffle, with indications emerging that a new national team under party president Nitin Nabin may be announced in the coming days. The development follows a high-level meeting held at the residence of Defence Minister Rajnath Singh in New Delhi, which lasted nearly four hours and is being viewed as significant in shaping the party’s internal structure.

The meeting was attended by key figures including Union Home Minister Amit Shah, RSS functionary Arun Kumar, and BJP National General Secretary (Organisation) B.L. Santhosh. While no official statement was released after the discussions, party sources said the agenda focused on organisational restructuring at both the national and state levels, with particular emphasis on finalising the composition of the new central leadership team.

According to sources, the reshuffle is expected to include significant changes across several state units, including the Delhi BJP as well as the party’s national structure. The proposed changes are aimed at strengthening organisational efficiency and aligning leadership roles with upcoming political priorities. Insiders indicated that the new team under Nabin is likely to feature a mix of experienced leaders and younger faces, reflecting a broader push for generational transition within the party.

Party sources also suggested that some leaders may be reassigned between organisational responsibilities and government roles as part of the restructuring exercise. The planned changes are expected to incorporate the BJP’s social balancing strategy, ensuring representation from diverse caste and community groups. Discussions are also believed to have included feedback from the RSS, which traditionally plays a key advisory role in shaping the party’s organisational decisions.

While no official timeline has been confirmed, reports suggest that the announcement of the new team could take place around June 20–21. The reshuffle is expected to be followed by further adjustments within the Union government after the completion of two years of the NDA 3.0 administration. Party insiders said the focus will remain on strengthening organisational discipline while creating opportunities for younger leaders and women in key positions.

If finalised as expected, the changes would mark one of the most significant internal restructurings in recent months for the BJP, with implications for both party functioning and governance coordination at the national level. Officials have, however, maintained that discussions are ongoing and no final list has been formally released yet.
