BJP UP President Election Schedule Out: Final Result on December 14
BJP Uttar Pradesh sets three-day timeline for state president election, result on December 14.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has officially announced the schedule for the election of its Uttar Pradesh state president for the 2025 organisational cycle. The announcement, made by the party’s Uttar Pradesh unit, outlines a three-day electoral process involving nomination filings, scrutiny, withdrawal of nominations, and the formal declaration of results. Party sources confirm that all procedures will be conducted under the supervision of senior election officials.
Nomination papers for the post of state president, as well as for National Council members, will be accepted on December 13 between 2 pm and 3 pm at the BJP state headquarters in Lucknow. Following this, scrutiny of all nominations will take place between 3 pm and 4 pm, and candidates will have the option to withdraw their nominations between 4 pm and 5 pm. Party officials have stated that all arrangements are in place to ensure a smooth and orderly filing process.
The final declaration of elected candidates is scheduled for Sunday, December 14, at 1 pm. If necessary, voting will also take place on the same day, ensuring a streamlined and transparent electoral process. Mahendra Nath Pandey, the State Election Officer, has issued the official circular, which has been sent to senior leaders including National Election Officer N.L. Saxena, central election overseer Vinod Tawde, and state-level organisational heads such as Dharampal Singh and Bhupendra Singh Chaudhary.
The election process comes after the completion of the Provincial Council elections, which form the electoral college for the state president poll. Reports indicate that 327 of 403 assembly seats have been filled, and elections for 84 of the 98 organisational districts have been completed. Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal has been appointed as the election officer for the state, further highlighting the importance of this leadership transition.
Several senior leaders are expected to contest the post, with names such as Pankaj Chaudhary, Lok Sabha MP from Maharajganj and Union Minister of State for Finance; BL Verma, Rajya Sabha MP and MoS for Consumer Affairs and Food; and MP Kanta Kardam reportedly in the running. The final outcome is likely to shape the party’s organisational strategy and influence its political positioning ahead of upcoming state and national elections.
The BJP’s Uttar Pradesh state president election is being closely watched by political analysts and party members alike, as it could signal shifts in internal power dynamics. With the announcement of results just around the corner, all eyes will be on Lucknow this weekend to see who will take charge of one of India’s most politically significant state units.
